Linking Industries is a design competition put forward by CDC Group for the purpose of supporting design initiative from concept to reality.

The competition runs as a three month cycle with new design briefs issued to interested parties for their input and submission.

Competition winners are rewarded by cash incentives, prototyping and assistance with marketing of designs and receipt of ongoing royaltie on the sale of the design.

CDC Group's role is to undertake the construction phase of prototyping and to market the new products to commercial sectors.

A new approach to material strengthening	CDC Group recently completed research and field trials for the use of reinforced epoxy resins and their advantages in strengthening lightweight metals. The significance of this development is focused on the replacement of expensive parent metals with cost effective epoxy compounds while at the same time retaining nominated product strengths. The now achievable outcome is for clients to retain quality via continued usage of high end product, but to outlay considerably less for the same structural outcome.

Shade structures, furniture, and surrounding infrastructures	CDC Group, as part of its involvement with major projects, has designed and constructed a broad range of shade structures, furniture, screens, handrail systems, planter boxes and supporting infrastructures. Although CDC retains many independent designs and product variations, it is our intention to utilise the ‘linking industries’ design competition to further provide clients with a more diversified selection of conceptual interpretations.
